The Y62-generation Nissan Patrol has been subtlety updated for the 2022 model year in Australia on the back of growing sales. Two versions of the 2022 Patrol are available for local buyers: the Ti and Ti-L. Alterations are subtle and for the Ti, the new model year brings with it a black grille, Nissan’s updated brand emblem, and revised front fender vents. Nissan has then equipped the flagship Ti-L model with the same updated front fender vents and brand emblem while it retains a chrome-stalled grille.
Both variants of the Patrol come standard
with the same 5.6-liter naturally aspirated petrol V8 offering up 400 hp and 560 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a seven-speed
automatic transmission and an intelligent 4×4 system to ensure the Patrol has
traction in even the toughest conditions.
Local pricing for the Nissan Patrol Ti
starts at AU$ 82,160 (US$ 58,608) while the Ti-L is available from AU$ 95,115
(US$ 67,850). A number of additional features help to justify the price
discrepancy between the two. For example, the Patrol Ti-L is a seven-seater and
includes a driver’s seat with a memory function. It also adds a first-row
center console cool box, a 13-speaker Bose audio system, two second-row 8-inch
entertainment screens with headphones and remote control, an Intelligent Rear
View Monitor, a puddle illumination light, a power-operated tailgate, roof
rails, a sunroof, heated and cooled front seats, and a tilt and telescopic
electronically adjustable steering column.
Last year proved to be the best in terms
of sales for the Patrol in Australia since 2008. September was the best month
ever recorded for the Patrol with 612 units being sold.
