Renault announced the Captur “Rive Gauche” special edition with a limited number of 800 units reserved for the UK market. The model is available with ICE-only and E-Tech hybrid powertrains as the new flagship trim next to the RS Line with small visual tweaks.
The special edition of the French SUV is
named after the southern bank area of the river Seine in Paris – rive gauche
means left bank in French. Visually it is distinguished by the glossy black
accents (grille, badges, shark-fin antenna, skid plates, does get a set of
18-inch glossy black diamond-cut alloy wheels` and standard metallic paint
(Oyster Grey, Arctic White, Diamond Black, or Flame Red).
The dark theme continues inside with
glossy black inserts, black roof liner, and black upholstery from synthetic
leather and cloth. Standard equipment includes the 9.3-inch touchscreen for the
Easy Link infotainment, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, wireless
phone charging tray, automatic air conditioning, and various ADAS.
In terms of powertrains, the special
edition is available with either the turbocharged 1.0 TCe 90 three-cylinder
gasoline engine producing 89 hp, or the E-Tech Hybrid 145
version. The latter comprises a naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter engine, an
electric motor, an HSG (High-Voltage Starter Generator), a 1.2 kWh water-cooled
battery, and a multi-mode gearbox sending power to the front axle. The combined
power output is 145 PS just like the mechanically-related
Arkana.
The Renault Captur “Rive Gauche” is
already available to order in the UK with pricing starting from £ 24,490
(US$ 32,643) for the 1.0 TCE 90. By comparison, the base price for the Captur
range is £ 21,190 (US$ 28,252) with the same engine.
