Wey unveiled the V72 Concept last fall, and is now getting a production car ready to rumble based on the same tech. Judging by the spy photos spreading in Chinese social media, the design has been dumbed down quite a lot.
For instance, the bumper is all-new with
protruding ‘fangs’ and a slanted solid hood cover where a massive front grille
used to be. The mirrors are much larger, and the wheels look fairly primitive
compared to the original multi-spoke design.
The above notwithstanding , the car still
somehow manages to look retro despite all the changes. The same rings true for
the cabin, which sports round air vents and a three-spoke steering wheel with a
semicircular insert in the lower half. If the photos are to be believed, the
car will ship with multiple front panel displays, just like the concept
promised us.
Sales in China will begin in the second
half of 2022. The manufacturer has released no technical specifications so far,
but the car itself will likely be renamed to “Wey Dream” by the time it reaches
the showrooms.
