GAC Trumpchi has premiered a redesigned version of its GS3 crossover, landing it with some exterior modifications and a more up-to-date interior, including a larger touchscreen.

According to AutoHome.cn, the vehicle will go on sale in China under the name “GS3 Power” and cost 84,800 Yuan (US$ 13,300) in its most basic form. Compared to the pre-facelift version, the newcomer boasts an upsized cascading front grille, a redesigned front bumper with triangular corners, and new headlights that rely on LEDs in all trim versions except for the entry-level one. Wheels are available in sizes up to 18 inches, and vivid color accents can be found throughout the body and wheels.

Inside, a 10.25-inch infotainment display merged with a recessed digital dashboard is a part of standard equipment. GAC promises a plethora of integrated online services and compatibility with Huawei devices: among other things, Huawei gadgets can function as digital key fobs to unlock the car. Power stays unchanged in this new version. A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine still delivers 169 PS and 265 Nm of torque to the wheels through either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is not mentioned anywhere in the press release.

Once it hits the showroom floors in China, the GAC GS3 Power will primarily have to compete with the likes of the Changan CS35 Plus and Geely Binyue/Coolray.
