The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will serve as the pace car for this year’s Indianapolis 500 on May 29. The brand new mid-engined supercar will be piloted by former IndyCar Series driver and team owner Sarah Fisher and won’t just be any Z06 but the new 70th Anniversary Edition that acts as a homage to the 70-year history of the Corvette.

Chevrolet has equipped the special pace car with the available Z07 Performance Package that adds a large carbon fiber rear wing, aerodynamic ground effects, carbon ceramic brakes, and a host of other parts. Further ensuring the car makes a statement is the White Pearl Tri-Coat Metallic paint contrasted with a bespoke red and black asymmetric racing stripe.

Other standout elements of the Z06 pace car include Edge Red brake calipers, special 70th Anniversary Edition badging across the exterior, a red front splitter, and a 70th Anniversary Edition logo on the seats, steering wheel, and sill plates.

The crown jewel of the 2023 Corvette Z06 is its bespoke 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8 with a flat-plane crank and pumping out 670 hp, making it the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 ever fitted to a production car.
