For the first time, GMC has added the Ultimate moniker to the Yukon Denali, signaling even greater luxury, comfort, and tech. In addition to high-end trim on the inside and outside, it marks the introduction of Super Cruise to the model. The advanced driver assistance system allows the vehicle to take over many driving duties on select highways that have been mapped by GM. The system is even capable of taking control while the Yukon is trailering.
Design-wise, its exterior accents are
finished in exclusive “Vader Chrome” and there is Galvano trim on the front
fascia. Those are contrasted against bright chrome window and door panel trim,
and the SUV sits on 22-inch seven-spoke ultra-bright machined wheels with
chrome accents and dark paint. Inside, the SUV gets an Alpine Umber interior
with full-grain leather seats for all three rows. The front seats, meanwhile
are adjustable in 16 directions and can massage you while Super Cruise whisks
you down the road.
It also gets Denali Ultimate-exclusive
plaited stitching throughout and aluminum decor trim which plays against the
open-pore Paldao woodgrain trim that features a laser-etched topographical map
of Mount Denali. The 18-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system, meanwhile, gets
stainless steel grilles for the door and headrest speakers. Infotainment duties
are handled by a 10.2-inch screen with Google built-in that is compatible with
both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also comes with available Wi-Fi hotspot
capabilities, Amazon Alexa, and wireless phone charging.
Power, meanwhile, comes from either a
standard 6.2-liter V8 or an available 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel engine.
Either way, you get a 10-speed automatic transmission to handle shifting
duties. As standard, it comes with Magnetic Ride Control, Air Ride Adaptive
Suspension, Active Response 4WD, as well as an electronic limited-slip
differential and Auto Track two-speed transfer case. Prices for the 2023 GMC
Yukon Denali Ultimate have not yet been revealed, but the automaker says it
will be available in showrooms starting in the fall of 2022.
