BMW M is continuing to celebrate its 50th anniversary and has just launched a special version of the M 1000 RR sports bike. Dubbed the 50 Years M Anniversary Edition, the bike is finished in the same shade of Sao Paulo Yellow that has made famous by the current BMW M4. It also comes standard with the same 50 years BMW M badging as the company’s performance cars.
Those looking to pick up the keys to an M
1000 RR 50 Years M Anniversary Edition can also opt for the 50 Years ///M
Package. This kit adds M GPS Lap Timer trigger software, rear seat cover and
passenger kit, M Carbon Package with carbon fiber front and rear fenders, upper
fairing side panels, left and right carbon tank covers, carbon chain guard, and
carbon sprocket cover.
There is also the M Billet Pack with
billet aluminum engine protectors, folding brake and clutch levels, M rider’s
rearseats, and front brake lever guard. The 50 Years ///M Package also includes
a clear anodized swingarm and M Endurance chain. Mechanically, the special
edition model is the same as the standard M 1000 RR. As such, it continues to
be powered by a 999 cc four-cylinder pumping out 205 hp at 13,000 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. The bike can hit 96 km/h in
less than 3.1 seconds and top out at 304 km/h.
The German car manufacturer is introducing
a plethora of new performance models throughout 2022. In addition to recently
announcing this special version of the M 1000 RR, BMW M has just unveiled the
2023 M4 CSL. This variant of the M4 benefits from a number of upgrades to its
3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six, allowing it to pump out 543 hp at
6,250 rpm and 649 Nm of torque between 2,750 and 5,950 rpm. This
allows it to hit 96 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The car will be sold
exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power through
the rear wheels.
