The Chery Unbounded Pro has been developed by New Energy based on a new digital ecosystem called the iCar Ideology, which has its sights firmly set on younger target audiences.
The supermini comes equipped with an
infotainment system built on a Gen.3 Qualcomm 6155 chipset. The steering wheel
has scrolling drums on it for easy navigation, evoking associations with some
modern gaming controllers. Integration with WeChat, the country’s most popular
messenger service, is also included.
Buyers get a plethora of opportunities for
exterior and interior customization, Chery points out. Some examples include
LED headlights and a dual dash screens, as well as pull-out door handles, HVAC,
and color-adjustable ambient lighting inside.
The company expects to be able to deliver
the car in two length variants, 3.2 and 3.4 meters. The wheelbase difference
between the two is negligible (2,150 vs. 2,160 mm) and likely explained by
different wheel sizes. As for the powertrain, the only thing we know for sure
is that the motor makes 75 PS at most.
