The Hongqi Q8 pictured here is an upcoming seven-seat luxury minivan for China that only exists on these patent shots at this point. Local media speculate that it might hit showroom floors in China later this year priced between 300,000 and 400,000 CNY. The van is 5,222 mm long, 2,005 mm wide and 1,935 mm tall with 3.2 meters between the axles. It is designed specifically to have two seats in the second row and seven in total, but a particularly deluxe four-seater variant may also be released later.

Tipping the scales at 2,320 kilos, the MPV can carry up to 565 kilos of cargo. Its 2.0-liter gasoline engine is new and produces 252 PS, which is enough to take it to a top speed of 200 km/h.

We have already seen the interior on spy photos from before. The trim makes intensive use of fake wood and chrome details. Second-row seat occupants get to enjoy separate armrests and likely also touchscreen panels with access to a variety of in-car functions.

The latest official premiere from Hongqi was dedicated to the LS7, a full-size SUV almost 5.7 meters long. The LS7 offers an opulent retro-styled interior and a four-liter V8 under the hood; it remains to be seen what the Q8 will be like in these departments.
