Bentley revealed the Azure range of models, a new specification available for its entire five-model lineup, including the Bentayga, Bentayga EWB, Flying Spur, Continental GT, and Continental GT Convertible. The Azure trim is focused on well-being behind the wheel, featuring a “stress-free” interior and a full suite of ADAS.
Bentley collaborated with well-being
experts and neuroscientists in order to provide its customers with a serene
environment where they can “recharge their mental batteries”. In other words,
Bentley is fighting stress which according to recent studies has reached a
record high – even amongst Bentley’s clientele. Thus, the Azure trim is
marketed as the wellbeing-focused alternative to the performance-oriented Speed
trim.
The first model to receive the Azure
treatment was the Bentayga EWB flagship, before the trim got expanded to all
models. Visually, they are distinguished by Azure badging on the front fenders,
a new set of 22-inch ten-spoke wheels, a “jewel” filler cap, and bright-chrome
lower bumper grilles. Furthermore, the Flying Spur Azure is fitted with a
glass-to-glass panoramic sunroof with a tilting front panel, while the
Continental GT Azure gets a fixed panoramic sunroof.
Inside the cabin, we find Azure emblems on
the illuminated treadplates, dashboard, and seats. More importantly, Bentley’s
color and trim designers created an eye-pleasing quilted upholstery, following
advice by neuroscientists. Buyers can choose between 15 hide colors and many
veneers, although Bentley strongly suggests three open-pore veneers: Dark
Walnut, Crown-Cut Walnut, and Koa.
All models come equipped with the Front
Seat Comfort Specification which offers up to 22-way adjustable seats coming
with heating and ventilation functions, six programmable massage settings,
adjustable side bolsters, electric seatbelt adjustment, and comfort headrests.
Crucial to a stress-free environment inside a moving vehicle is NVH and ride
comfort, areas where Bentley already excels. Standard equipment includes the
Bentley Dynamic Ride, a sophisticated 48V active anti-roll control system
offering a smooth ride. Furthermore, the Touring Specification includes a full
range of ADAS which make driving easier, safer, and, according to Bentley, less
stressful – especially in traffic.
Bentley has yet to announce pricing for
the Azure variants, but we guess it will be positioned higher than the base
trim of each model, due to the extra features, but lower than the top-spec
Mulliner variants.
