China’s Ministry of Industry has published new information about the latest NIO-branded electric car, the ES7. Apparently, it is a dual-engine SUV over 4.9 meters long. Specifically, the car is being patented with the following L/W/H and wheelbase: 4,912, 1.987, 1,720 and 2,960 millimeters, respectively. It can weigh between 2,361 and 2,400 kilograms depending on the chosen trim level.
Powered by the same NT 2.0 architecture as
the marque’s other EVs, the ES7 uses a less powerful front axle motor rated at
245 PS and a more powerful one at the rear, which churns out
408 PS. The top speed amounts to 200 km/h.
All other details remain to be announced.
Nio promised to put a state-of-the-art self-driving system into its next car,
and the images show relevant equipment installed on the ES7 above the
windshield. The premiere should follow soon – in fact, we expect it to take
place at the delayed Beijing Auto Show. However, the organizers of the show
have yet to announce a new date.
The Nio lineup contains one larger battery
SUV, the three-row ES8 model coming in at over 5 meters long with 544 PS driving the wheels. Back in 2021, the company also previewed an
all-wheel-drive sedan named the ET7, which reached the market this spring.
