The next generation of the GMC Canyon is getting ready for its debut the next summer, and pre-production test vehicles are already running around. Making this one more interesting is the fact that it is the off-road-capable AT4X version.
Now that some of the wrap is gone, you can
see extra lights mounted on the front bumper and unusually low ride height. The
latter can be due to the engineering crew stress-testing the suspension of the
pickup with a heavy load in the cargo bed. Simple steelies and bed shots
confirm this suspicion.
Elsewhere, the car has Goodyear Wrangler
tires, a redesigned front end, flared fenders, different mudguards, and a
restyled radiator grille. It will also doubtlessly introduce some new tech
features, although this part remains to be announced.
The engine stays mysterious, but rumors
claim it is a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mill rated higher than 300
PS.
