The Chinese Ministry of Industry and IT has complemented its database with the images of the next-gen Ford Edge. New exterior design and larger dimensions prompt the assumption that the model has moved upmarket compared to the preceding Edge Plus. The soft-roader is 122 mm longer now and is thus exactly five meters long. The wheelbase also gains 100 mm for a total of 2,950 mm.

From the design point of view, the novelty was clearly inspired by the Mondeo model now also exclusive to China. Similarities extend as far as the lighting, the radiator grille, the pull-out door handles and the two-tone paintjob allowing the bulky SUV to feel lighter.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo and amounts to 251 PS. The transmission is strictly eight-speed automatic, but you can choose between FWD and AWD. A hybrid specification is underway to the market, too, but will arrive later.

The interior hasn’t been shown yet, but we expect a giant infotainment display there, like the 27-inch 4K screen the latest Ford Evos has.
