BMW has already launched the next-gen 7-Series and the facelifted 3-Series, and the 5-Series looks like it should follow suit soon. What should we expect? According to ynguldyn, a well-known insider at the BimmerPost forum, the sedan will ship with a variety of powertrains to choose from, including gasoline and diesel MHEVs, PHEVs and all-electric ones. It will allegedly reach the market exactly a year from now.

In the United States, the new 5-Series is expected to be available in one gas-powered spec and two all-electric ones, RWD with 335 PS and AWD with 590 PS.

Customers in Europe will reportedly also gain access to a diesel version with 195 PS and a petrol one with 190 PS at its disposal. An M5 PHEV will reside at the top of the lineup with over 700 PS under its command.
