Chery has shown a new modification of its Tiggo 7 Plus SUV at the Chengdu Motor Show. Called the DP-i, it is a plug-in hybrid with so far undisclosed electric range. The vehicle utilizes its usual 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 156 PS in tandem with an electric motor contributing 170 PS of its own. The cumulative output amounts to 326 PS and 510 Nm of torque. A three-speed semi-auto transmission drives the front axle.
For the sake of convenience, the car has
two charging ports concealed in its front left and rear right fenders. Owners
can choose whichever port is easier to reach on their parking spot.
On the outside, the part-electric Tiggo 7
Plus sports revised headlights, a distinct radiator grille and new décor that
enables you to tell it from its ICE counterpart. The 18-inch wheels benefit
from a special design intended to minimize air turbulence.
The interior is also new and houses
sported-up seats with integrated headrests. Paying a premium unlocks a heads-up
display and a Sony audio system.
