GAC-owned automobile brand Hycan brought its electric sedan named A06 to the motor show in Chegdu last week, and has managed to take 30,321 pre-orders in three days. Media explain that the car, with its electric drivetrain and optional AWD, was very attractively priced at just 180,000 Yuan (US$ 26,000) for pre-ordering buyers. From the design point of view, the A06 is a sporty-shaped sedan 4,965 mm long with boomerang headlights and 2,850 mm of wheelbase. Its interior lacks physical switches and is generally minimalistic with the 14.6-inch infotainment display providing access to most in-car functions. There are still a few hardware buttons on the steering wheel spokes, though.

The automaker claims the vehicle supports semi-autonomous driving based on 22 sensors and hardware units scanning the road up to over 200 meters ahead. It also comes with a AI-powered self-parking feature supporting different parking modes.

On the drivetrain side of things, the choice is as simple as one or two electric motors. Opting for two gets you around 460 PS and a sprint time of 3.7 seconds. In turn, the FWD version will have either 183 or 217 metric horsepower at its disposal. The speed limiter will be set to 160 km/h in all versions, and the drive rage will top out at 630 km.
