Chery has released many modifications of its Tiggo 8 SUV throughout the years, including Pro, Max Pro and Plus, but the basic model is still on sale in China – and is getting its second planned upgrade in a year.

Exterior changes are few and far between, but the radiator grille now looks like a chrome checkerboard. The anti-fog lights are now separate from the main headlight units, and the front bumper lacks its usual chrome strip.

Most of the effort obviously went into redesigning the interior, which now boasts large, Tiggo 8 Pro Max-style digital dash and infotainment screens. The center tunnel is also new and houses a gear selector mounted closer to the driver’s seat. Air ionizer and Sony audio system are paid options.

Like before, the regular Tiggo 8 is available in China with a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 156 PS and a range-topping TGDI with 197 PS.
