The Hyundai Tucson range has been updated for the 2023 model year in Australia. The only change made to the SUV is the introduction of Hyundai’s Bluelink connected car service, now standard on Elite and Highlander models. The connected-car service is offered free of charge for the first 5 years of new vehicle ownership and is transferable to subsequent owners within this 5-year period.
A plethora of features come as part of the
Bluelink service. These include Automatic Collision Notification that will
automatically alert the Bluelink Customer Care Center following an accident
when an airbag deploys. Connected Routing is also included and can calculate
navigation routes through the powerful server in the Bluelink cloud rather than
the in-car navigation system.
Bluelink also brings with it advanced
Voice Recognition that gives the owner access to hands-free calls, navigation,
and search settings. Other features of the Bluelink connected car service
include Valet Mode, Weather, Calendar Sync, Destination Send-to-Car, Last Mile
Navigation, Remote Services, Remote Vehicle Check, Vehicle Health Report, Find
My Car, and Cloud Back-Ups. Hyundai Australia has bumped up starting prices of
the 2023 Tucson Elite and Highlander by AU$ 500 (US$ 347) to accommodate the
inclusion of Bluelink. Continuing to sit at the base of the range is the
standard 2023 Tucson, priced from AU$ 34,900 (US$ 24,272) and available exclusively
with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated MPi four-cylinder engine driving the front
wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. An N Line option pack is
available for AU$ 4,000 (US$ 2,782).
Sitting in the middle of the 2023 range is
the Tucson Elite starting at AU$ 39,900 (US$ 27,751) with the 2.0-liter and
six-speed, AU$ 43,900 (US$ 30,533) for the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and
seven-speed dual-clutch, and AU$ 45,900 (US$ 31,924) for the 2.0-liter diesel
four-cylinder. Topping out the range is the Highlander available from AU$46,900
(US$ 32,619) for the 2.0-liter petrol, AU$ 50,900 (US$ 35,401) for the 1.6-liter
turbo, and AU$ 52,900 (US$ 36,793) for the 2.0-liter diesel.
