The successor to the iconic Lamborghini Aventador is edging ever closer to becoming a reality and a new spy video shows the supercar in more detail than ever before. In recent months, a growing number of spy images and videos have revealed that the new halo model from the Italian brand will adopt a new design dramatically different from its predecessor yet still remaining easily identifiable as a Lamborghini. The prototype in question was recently filmed out and about near Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata facility in Italy and while we don’t get the chance to see it from the front, we can see it from the rear. And what a rear-end it is.
Your eyes may immediately be drawn to the
exhausts. Located at the top of the fascia and in line with the decklid, there
are four exhausts housed within two hexagonal tailpipes. Positioned on either
side of these exhausts are the thin LED taillights. The presence of a
skin-tight camouflage wrap also gives us an unimpeded view of the bumper and
diffuser which gives the supercar a dramatic and mesmerizing appearance. By
relocating the exhausts from the corners of the bumper to the top of the
fascia, Lamborghini has been able to ensure large parts of the massive rear
tires are visible.
Then we get to the engine cover. Sitting
behind a small vertical rear window, the engine cover has six cooling veins. A
pair of flying buttresses on either side of the rear are also visible. The
design of the third brake light is also quite the head-turner as it follows the
shape of the roof. This spy video leads credence to the legitimacy of purported
design patents of the new supercar that surfaced just a few days ago, while
also indicating that we are just months away from the car’s unveiling.
