The 2024 Cadillac GT4 has been revealed as a stylish compact SUV, joining the ranks of the automaker’s Chinese lineup. This athletic crossover coupe provides Cadillac with an opportunity to establish its presence in the ever-expanding compact segment, where it will compete against formidable rivals such as the Volvo C40. Cadillac says that the GT4’s front fascia, its vertical LED headlights, and its slimline lighting technology were intentionally designed to invoke the aesthetics of the flagship Lyriq. The addition of chrome accents, V-shaped detailing on the grille, and other details help lend it a sportier vibe.
Cadillac adds that the interior was also
inspired by the Lyriq. The wraparound design concept and the floating center
console help balance practical concerns such as storage with its aesthetic
priorities. The interior is bedecked in premium materials, such as chrome,
brushed aluminum, carbon fiber, and distinctive piping on the upholstery.
As with the 2024 CT6 and XT4, which were
also revealed today, the GT4 comes with a next-gen infotainment system
featuring a class-exclusive 33-inch “freeform” 9K screen and the latest
Cadillac Virtual Cockpit System. It also comes with a 15-speaker AKG audio
system, an HD streaming mirror, a full-color heads-up display, and a 360-degree
surround camera system with seats that vibrate to provide drivers with feedback
on their surroundings. Other luxurious options include dual-zone automatic
climate control, a PM2.5 particulate filter, a memory seat for the driver, iKey
wireless entry, and self-sealing tires.
Under the hood, power comes from either a
1.5-liter or a 2.0-liter engine that are both paired to a nine-speed automatic
transmission. Power figures have not been explicitly stated for the GT4, but in
the XT4 2.0-liter engine is rated at 233 hp and 350
Nm of torque.
Prices for the 2024 Cadillac GT4 start at
RMB 219,700 to RMB 309,700 (US$ 31,061 to US$ 43,786).
It is not clear if the model is China-exclusive, or if it will be offered in
other markets.
