The all-electric Mercedes G-Class presumably called the EQG is coming, and it promises to be just as capable off-road as its ICE predecessor.
Overall, the G-Wagen stays recognizable,
but numerous aerodynamic tweaks have been made to extend its range. Note in
particular the new wheels, bumpers and headlights. The spare wheel cover also
has a rounded square shape for some reason.
In all likelihood, the new EQG will retain
the body-on-frame design of the original G-Class. As for the powertrain, the
general expectation is that it will use up to four electric motors with
imitated diff locks and reduction gear.
