The McLaren 750S Triple Crown wears a unique livery inspired by the three major motorsports victories that the British automaker scored in 1974, 1984 and 1995. Each paint job takes around 1,200 hours to apply by hand.
The exclusive special edition has a second
name as well: 3–7–59. The numbers correspond to the starting numbers of the
victorious McLarens. The new livery contains references to all three cars at
once – even the brake calipers are finished in multiple colors.
For the interior, McLaren goes with grey
Alcantara and orange accents. The seats wear triple crown badges, but the
coolest feature for the collectors is the carbon-fiber number plaque bearing
the number ‘3759’. It is made from the genuine carbon fiber of one of the
award-winning cars.
As you may guess, the pricing is a bit on
the steep side. Whereas the base McLaren 750S can be had from US$ 329,500,
the Triple Crown edition starts above US$ 700,000 – more than twice as much. That
said, all six examples planned for production have already been pre-sold to
collectors.
