Haval has registered a new trademark, ‘Veyron’, submitting it with some pre-production images of a crossover SUV. The market launch is expected sometime in 2024.

Judging by the images, the model has an unusual exterior with lots of creases and sharp edges all around and vaguely Y-shaped headlights. According to CarNewsChina, Haval had originally designed it for its Salon sub-brand, primarily known for its extravagant-looking Mecha Dragon saloon. With the Saloon badge now discarded, the company must have decided to salvage the SUV and release it under its own branding.

While there has been no official announcement yet, it looks like the Haval Veyron will become an upmarket alternative to the existing Raptor model. It seems to be around five meters long and can have six or seven seats inside. For the powertrain, the company may use its signature Hi4-T hybrid system based on a 1.5-liter turbo unit.

The media in China believe that the SUV will go on sale packing roughly 460 PS and priced from 200,000 Yuan (US$ 28,000).
