BYD has released some teaser images of its next production car – Yuan Up. It is a small battery crossover that should arrive in March this year priced under 100,000 Yuan, making it the cheapest member of the Yuan EV family, AutoHome reports. The modest price is partially due to the car being on par with Hyundai Creta in terms of size. In China, it will be joining the company of its larger cousins Yuan Pro and Yuan Plus.

Judging by the images, the Yuan Up is designed in the same vein as its peers, with smooth body outlines and slim headlights. It also sports a quasi-hovering roof and unusual-looking c-pillars, among other things. Patent shots leaked in December also revealed U-shaped inserts in the bumpers and side sills.

The car is 4,310 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and 1,675 mm tall with 2,620 mm between the axles. We are told that it will ship with the same powertrain options as the BYD Dolphin, meaning a single front-axle motor rated at either 95 PS or 177 PS. It will have an unspecified lithium-ferro-phosphate battery on board and be able to reach 160 km/h.
