Toyota dealerships in China have started the sales of an electric SUV named Bozhi 4X – essentially just a rebadged bZ4X model that had been available in the country before. Its Bozhi twin comes in four trims to choose from priced between 179,800 and 238,800 Yuan.

Toyota has been producing its bZ4X for China at two industrial sites – FAW and GAC. The latter announced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November that it was creating its own all-electric vehicle brand, Bozhi. The 4X was its first production model. Positioned on the local market as a bZ4X facelift, it is barely any different from the base car both in looks and in tech.

The dimensions are virtually the same at 4,690 x 1,860 x 1,650 mm with 2,850 mm of wheelbase. The base spec has a 204-PS motor, while the AWD spec utilizes a pair of 109 PS motors driving one axle each. A 66.7-kWh battery pack yields 615 km of CLTC-rated range per charge with a single motor. The AWD version gets only 560 km. The interior layout at the front stays unchanged with a 7-inch digital dash installed close to the windshield, a 12.3-inch infotainment display in the middle and a regular three-spoke steering wheel.

Going for the cheapest trim gets you eight airbags, an enhanced Level 2 autopilot (T-Pilot), and Apple CarPlay support. Heated steering wheel, heated/ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, a nine-channel JBL audio system and many safety assists cost extra.
