Dacia is known for prioritizing affordability over autonomous driving systems, but regulatory changes in Europe require its models to come equipped with a basic package. To comply with the new rules, the Romanian automaker announced a series of model year updates for the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Logan, and Jogger family, adding more ADAS and new features.

As required by the European Union’s GSR II (Global Safety Regulation II), effective July 2024, all Dacia models are now outfitted with the following: Event Data Recorder, Alcohol immobilizer predisposal, Traffic sign recognition with speed alert, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Driver attention warning, Rear Parking Assist, Light & Rain Sensors, AEB (pedestrian & cyclist), and Emergency Stop Signal.

Additionally, Rescue QR Code stickers affixed to the windscreen and rear window provide firefighters and rescue crews with rapid access to a dedicated rescue information booklet. To support the aforementioned systems, Dacia equipped the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Logan, and Jogger with a new ADAS camera on the windshield, replacing the old bumper-mounted sensor.

 

Even though the current generation of the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, and Logan were introduced back in 2020, Dacia has yet to introduce a facelift. Still, to keep the exterior fresh, the company offers new two-tone Atara Flexwheels for the Sandero and Logan, darker versions of the same design for the Sandero Stepway and Jogger, plus the Randia diamond-finish alloy wheels for high-spec trims. The Sandero Stepway which represents two-thirds of the Sandero sales mix is also available in an exclusive shade called Safari Beige, while all models can now be ordered in Shale Grey and Cedar Green. Furthermore, the Expression trim of the Jogger and Sandero Stepway comes with a new sticker on the front doors, showing the GPS coordinates of the Romanian Transfagarasan road in case you want to make use of their adventurous credentials for a trip to the famous mountain pass.

Inside, all models have USB-C ports (instead of USB-A), and a new “My Safety” button on the left side of the dashboard for quickly deactivating certain ADAS. Additionally, the Jogger Hybrid 140 benefits from the new 7-inch digital instrument cluster that was recently introduced in the Duster, and gains an “E-Save” function that keeps the battery level at 70 percent. Finally, in the name of sustainability, the 400-page manual is now offered in digital form with the paper version being optionally available. As a replacement, there is a 32-page quick guide, helping owners get acquainted with their new car.

The 2024 Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Logan, and Jogger will be available to order starting from April 2024 depending on the market. Pricing will be announced closer to the market launch. The Sandero is an important model for the Romanian automaker, constantly being among Europe’s best-selling cars since 2017.
