BYD officially launched the Seagull Honor Edition on March 6th, offering a more affordable price range compared to the previous version. The starting price is now 69,800 yuan (US$ 9,700), which is 4,000 yuan lower. The car comes in three trim levels: Vitality (69,800 yuan/US$ 9,700), Free (75,800 yuan/US$ 10,530), and Flying (85,800 yuan/US$ 11,920). Despite the lower price, the Seagull Honor Edition remains a compact car with a length of 3780mm, width of 1715mm, and height of 1540mm. The wheelbase is 2500mm. All models come standard with Bluetooth, NFC keyless entry, 4G car connectivity, and navigation.
In terms of performance, all Seagull Honor
Edition models are equipped with a single electric motor with 55kW maximum
power and 135Nm peak torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 50
km/h in 4.9 seconds. BYD offers two battery options for the Seagull Honor
Edition. The standard battery has a capacity of 30.08kWh and provides a CLTC
pure electric range of 305km. The top-of-the-line Flying version gets a larger
38.88kWh battery, which extends the range to 405km.
The Seagull Honor Edition comes standard
with a good set of safety features, including airbags, parking sensors, rear
camera, and cruise control. The Flying version adds even more advanced
driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control, emergency
braking, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition.
The base Vitality version uses 15-inch
steel wheels, while the Free and Flying versions get 16-inch alloy wheels.
Standard features across all trims include LED headlights, imitation leather
steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and power windows with anti-pinch
function for the driver’s window.
