A handful of intriguing teasers have been released of Shelby’s first take on the latest-generation Mustang and if the rumors turn out to be true, this could be an all-conquering new Super Snake model. Of all the Mustang models built and tuned by Shelby over the decades, few are as iconic as the Super Snake. The new car teased on social media is shaping up to be much more dramatic than the standard Mustang and can be seen rocking several bespoke exterior parts. Judging by the previous Super Snake, it Shelby has likely fitted the standard 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with a supercharger to dramatically increase power.

The front of the pony car is different than any regular ‘Stang. Shelby has customized the front air intakes and installed new black shrouds around the headlights. We can also see an overhauled front grille and a massive front splitter supported by large struts stretching out from the bumper. Shelby has also developed a new carbon fiber rear wing for the Ford and while no teasers have been provided of the car’s rear bumper area, we suspect there is a meaty diffuser back there too. A new set of wheels has also been designed for the car, complete with a bronze-colored finish that should look superb with the red paint. New brake calipers and discs are also visible.

A single teaser of the car’s interior has been released, showing a white shift knob with a carbon fiber shroud. The previous-generation Mustang Super Snake from Shelby American had a heavily modified V8 with a massive Whipple supercharger and other upgrades, allowing it to deliver 825 hp. If the company’s latest creation is a new Super Snake, it can be expected to pump out just as many ponies, or perhaps even a little more.

All will be revealed on April 18 when the car is unveiled at a Barrett-Jackson auction.
