Mono Marine Edition
BAC
has announced plans to offer a new Mono Marine Edition. Designed to be
transported around on super-yachts, the Mono Marine Edition costs £ 500,000
(US$ 775,205) and features anti-corrosion components which are designed to withstand
a life at sea. The model also has custom
chassis lifting points which allow the car to be hoisted by super-yacht crane
cradles and secured to helipads.
Speaking
of the latter, the car comes with a special carbon-fiber crane arm that can be
used with all yacht crane systems. The
special edition also has an "Environmental Control Container System to
stow the car on board with temperature and humidity controls, guarding the car
from the marine environment."
The
Mono Marine Edition will be built to order and all will feature a 2.5-liter
Mountune four-cylinder engine that produces 305 bhp (227 kW).
In
a statement, BAC Director of Strategy & Corporate Development Andrew
Whitney said “Today’s super-yachts are
paragons of exquisite taste, exceptional design, and the ultimate experience
possible. It is only fitting that owners should be able to extend that
experience beyond the vessel upon arrival."
