New
Ducati 959 Panigale
Ducati
is planning to launch an update for the 899 Panigale which will be called the
Ducati 959 Panigale. This new bike showed up earlier in the CARB – California
Air Resources Board emission documents. Now the bike has been caught testing in
flesh.
According
to the spy photos, there isn’t much changing on the exterior of the new
Panigale which looks near identical to the existing 899 Panigale. On inspecting
the closer details, there are some differences however.
The
959 Panigale has a fairing that resembles the 1299 Panigale which has a sharper
and slightly longer nose and front section under the headlights. The air dams
are slightly bigger too. Other components such as the 899’s radial-mounted
Brembo monobloc calipers, fully adjustable rear shocks and double-sided
swingarm appear to have remained the same.
In
the emission documents last week, the 959 Panigale appeared along with a new line of
Hypermotards,
that sport and updated 937 cc engine. As far as the new Panigale goes, the
update would bring a 955 cc engine that would produce higher power, estimated
in the range of 160-170 bhp.
The
new 959 Panigale will be a part of the nine new models that the company plans
to unveil at this year’s EICMA motor show which is to be held between November
19 to November 22, 2015.
