2017
Ford Super Duty
Ford
of Canada has unveiled the 2017 Ford Super Duty at the Canadian Western
Agribition (CWA) held in Regina, Saskatchewan.
The
all-new Super Duty is lighter and stiffer than ever before as it is made from
military-grade aluminium alloy and high-strength steel. The usage of these
materials has resulted in the weight getting reduced by almost 136 kg and the frame getting stiffer by almost 24 times. Less weight has resulted in
more towing capacity and the usage of the advanced materials has made the body
less prone to rust as well as dings and dents.
The
exterior of the workhorse is similar to the F-150 with an upright face, vertically-stacked
LED headlights and an imposing two-slat chrome grille. The sides feature chrome
fender vents, muscular wheel arches and side mirrors with LED spotlights. The
posterior features LED tail lights and an LED unit for the cargo box.
The
all-new model has a 360-degree camera system that consists of four cameras
covering all angles. Other technologies offered include adaptive cruise
control, adaptive steering, blind-spot monitor and lane-departure warning.
Infotainment needs will be taken care of by Ford’s Sync 3 system.
The
2017 Ford Super Duty will be available in three cab configurations (Regular,
Super and Crew). Customers can choose from a total of five trims (XL, XLT,
Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum). Ford has not disclosed the exact specifications
but the engines will be a 6.2-liter V8, 6.8-liter V10 and 6.7-liter Power
Stroke V8 diesel. The price has also not been revealed and is expected to be
disclosed closer to the launch scheduled to take place late next year.
