Fiat
Abarth 695 Biposto Record
Fiat
Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has launched the Fiat Abarth 695 Biposto Record at a
price of £ 36,610 OTR in the UK. This limited-edition is based on the Fiat
Abarth 695 Biposto.
The
Record edition will be limited to just 133 units which denotes the number of
records that are held by the Scorpion brand. The Abarth 695 Biposto Record is
built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of setting a new acceleration record in
a Class G car at Monza. The feat was accomplished by Carlo Abarth himself who
also had to lose 30 kg in order to fit in the tight cockpit; as he was unable
to find the right driver.
The
exterior is distinguished by an exclusive ‘Modena Yellow’ finish that is
embellished with ‘Tar Cold Grey’ trims and a ‘695 Record’ badge on the side and
on the aluminium bonnet along with 18-inch OZ alloy wheels. The interior gets
special instrument panel animation, unique number plate, Sabelt carbon shell
seats, four point seatbelts and a cargo net.
The
Abarth 695 Biposto Record derives power from the same 1.4 Turbo T-Jet
four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that pumps out 190 hp and 250 Nm of
torque at 5,500 rpm. The car has an overall weight of just 997 kg and an
impressive weight-to-power ratio of 5.2 kg/hp. A 6-speed manual transmission
sends power to the front wheels, affording the small car with a time of 5.9
seconds for the 0-100 km/h dash. This hot hatch can reach a top speed
of 230 km/h.
