Ferrari
488 GTB and the Lamborghini Aventador by Edo
In
a competition between the Ferrari 488 GTB and the Lamborghini Aventador to see
which of the two looks the most ferocious, the big Lambo will probably win
without breaking a sweat. However, things change if you throw a black hue and
tuner Edo Competition into the mix.
The
German tuning house will be present at the Essen Motor Show with these two,
almost stock looking, beasts; teasing the 488 GTB and the Aventador ahead of
their official launch.
Unfortunately,
since the cars are just a preview of things to come, Edo didn’t provide any
performance figures or power gains, but knowing the company is responsible for
modifying the like of the Carrera GT, Maserati MC12 and even the Ferrari FXX, we can assume that these two beasts pack
their own power-punch under the hood.
Slightly
underpowered in stock-form compared to the Aventador, the Ferrari 488 GTB looks
remarkable in black. The red stripes serve justice to the car, making it seem
more menacing than it already is. The visual tweaks, though subtle, emphasizes
the car’s overall aggressive look, giving it a visceral, predator vibe that
could take Lambo’s big bull by the horns. Its 3.8-litre turbocharged
engine could very well be pushed well beyond its limits, since its
forced-induction layout lends itself better to tuners.
Almost
the same can be said about the Lamborghini; minus the engine-modding part,
since it’s harder to extract heaps of horsepower from a naturally aspirated
powerplant. Still, we think its stock 690 hp should suffice, although Edo
surely didn’t settle for such a simple approach. Like the Ferrari, the Lambo
also was garnished with subtle visual cues and looks stunning, to say the
least.
