1290 Super Duke GT
KTM has officially
revealed its new 1290 Super Duke based sport touring motorcycle called the 1290
Super Duke GT. This new motorcycle was seen under the wraps quite a few times
before, first unofficially here, then again officially in limited circulation
here. This time to full-blown machine has been officially let our by the
company, and its looks every bit true to the KTM name.
The new Super Duke GT
is powered by a re-tuned version of the same 1301 cc, 75-degree V-twin that is
found in the 1290 Super Duke, producing 173 bhp and 143 Nm of torque. The
re-tuned to produce peak power at slightly higher rpm and torque at lower rpm
as compared to the 1290 Super Duke R.
In terms of
electronics, the new KTM 1290 Super Duke GT features WP Semi-active suspensions
both front and rear that can be adjusted in three different modes – Comfort,
Street and Sport. The suspension control unit monitors each damping value and
riding style and can automatically adjust the firmness. The GT also carries
over the riding assistance package from the 1290 Super Adventure, which
features lean angle sensitive stability control, cornering linked ABS and
traction control along with a quick shifter as standard.
Prices and availability
for the 2016 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT are yet to be announced.
