SsangYong Rexton
SsangYong
has announced a series of upgrades for the Rexton in the UK, which is currently
available for order.
The
South Korean brand says that their flagship SUV now has an upgraded Euro 6
compliant engine, the 2.2-liter e-XDi220
diesel, replacing the previous 2.0-liter unit. It produces 178 PS and
400 Nm of torque. Maximum torque figure is delivered from 1,400 rpm
and maintained up to 2,800 rpm, while CO2 emissions were dropped from 196 g/km to
184 g/km.
SsangYong
offers a transmission choice of a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic, which
is signed by Mercedes-Benz, with low range available for off-roading, that
splits the torque equally between the front and rear axles to provide all round
traction, while ensuring optimum grip on difficult terrains.
The
2016 SsangYong Rexton is built on a steel ladder chassis, with a 3-tonne towing
capacity, featuring a double wishbone and coil spring suspension on the front
and a five link rigid axle with coil
springs at the rear. On the mid-range EX automatic and the range-topping ELX,
the automaker added a multi-link rear suspension for a more comfortable ride.
The
updated flagship SUV comes in a five- or seven-seat configuration and the
company offers the top-of-the-line ELX with features such as 18-inch Diamond
cut alloy wheels, LED DRLs, front and rear parking sensors, beige/grey leather
interior, new multi-function leather wrapped steering wheel, satellite
navigation system, heated rear seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror and others.
