Haval H7
Great Wall Motors owned Haval, brought
the Haval H7 SUV to the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show, and plans to hold its market
launch in China in early 2016. This is the production version of the Haval H7
concept that was first seen at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show.
The Haval H7 can seat five occupants
while the longer H7L variant has space for seven occupants. The face of the H7
gets a big chrome-lined three slat grille that is flanked by Audi-esque headlight
design enclosing projector lamps and LED DRLs. The lower portion has large air
intakes and small horizontal strips that pass off as foglamps.
The side profile shows massive wheel
arches and dark lower body plastic cladding. Moving to the rear; a tailgate-mounted
spoiler, wraparound tail lights and skid plates along with dual tail pipes are
visible. The SUV has dimensions of 4,715 mm, 1,925 mm, 1,718 mm and 2,850 mm in
length, width, height and wheelbase respectively.
The interior looks premium and seems
like it’s made from high-quality materials. The highlight here is the fully
digital instrument display which is a first for Haval. The centrepiece of the
dashboard is the large 12.3-inch screen, and a dual zone air conditioning
system.
The Haval H7 is powered by a Euro 5
compliant 2.0-litre turbocharged inline four cylinder petrol engine that is
capable of 227 hp and 350 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to all four wheels
through the 6-speed automatic gearbox. Its top speed
is 220 km/h.
