Tata Hexa Crossover Production Version
Tata Hexa SUV has made its global
premiere at the Auto Expo 2016 along with a slew of other models from the
home-grown manufacutrer. The Hexa
is the first SUV to be manufactured in consulting with the Land Rover. Based on
the Aria platform showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, it comes packed with
sharp yet aggressive styling language and has host of features on the inside.
It will take on Mahindra Hyundai Creta, XUV500, Renault Duster and Nissan
Terrano in the hotly-contested SUV segment.
Under the bonnet, the Texa Hexa features
the 2.2-litre four-cylinder VARICOR 400 diesel engine producing 154.2 bhp at
4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,700 and 2,700 rpm, mated to a
six-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed automatic transmission with a
4WD drivetrain. Driver can choose from four driving modes such as Dynamic,
Automatic, Comfort and Rough Road. Up front, the SUV features a flatter bonnet,
honeycomb mesh grille, a chrome slat underneath the grille running towards the
healights, projector headlamps, body coloured door handles, blackened pillars,
turn indicators on ORVMs, body cladding on the sides, new LED taillmap cluster,
twin-exhaust pipes, and dual-tone bumper with aluminum skid plats.
It measures about 4,764 mm in length,
1,895 mm in width and 1,78 0mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The
six-seater SUV has (2+2+2) configuration and offers instrument panel with Multi-information
colour display, a touchscreen infotainment system with park assist and
navigation functions alongside circular dials. The dual tone finsh on the
inside has white and black colours with contrasting stitching, LED illumination
for ambient mood lighting, leather upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel
besides safety features such as ABS, EBD, ESP, traction control, brake assist,
rear parking sensor and camera and engine immobilizer among others.
