2016 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo

Toyota of Thailand has unveiled the TRD Sportivo variant and launched it in the market.

Toyota of Thailand launched the second generation Toyota Fortuner last year and is now gearing up to introduce a sportier variant of it, the ‘Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo’. The TRD Sportivo variant of the new generation Fortuner has been revealed through brochure images published on a Headlight Magazine forum.

Not much can be confirmed about the 2016 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo as of now, because the brochure text is mainly in Thai, but many features can still be inferred. The TRD Sportivo variant will be available in two exterior colours: White Pearl CS and Attitude Black Mica. The former features a two-tone scheme with white as the domiant colour, and black roof. The all-new Fortuner TRD Sportivo features restyled bumpers, 20-inch TRD black wheels, TRD door sills, chrome TRD muffler and TRD Sportivo badge on the tailgate.

Inside, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo features TRD instrument cluster, TRD push start system, two-tone (red-black) seats, T-Connect infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen display and TRD floor mats.

Coming to performance modifications, Toyota will be offering special suspension and brakes in the 2016 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo. Under the bonnet, there’s the standard variant’s 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV turbo-diesel engine producing 177 PS and 450 Nm of torque.

The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with Sequential Shift and Paddle Shift. Rear wheel drive is standard drivetrain configuration, but Sigma 4 all-wheel drive system is available moving up the range.
