Under the bonnet, a brand new ‘GD’ series diesel engine paired to five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmissions propels the five-door MPV. However, Toyota will continue to offer its 2.0-litre and 2.7-litre VVT-i petrol engines for selected markets.
The 2.4-liter GD four-cylinder diesel engine with VNT Intercooler produces 149 PS at 3,400 rpm and 360Nm of torque on the AT version as well as 342 Nm of torque on the MT variants. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i producing 139 PS at 5,600 rpm and 183 Nm of torque at 4,700 rpm with MT and AT options. The new “GD” engine said to be 10% more efficient than the existing 2.5 and 3.0-litre diesel models, is likely to return 11 kmpl on city and 15 kmpl on highways.

Starting from the entry-level ‘G’, mid variant ‘V’ and top-end ‘Q’, Toyota has equipped them with ABS, EBD and three airbags (dual front and driver knee) as standard for the Indonesian market with prices starting from Rs. 13.69 lakh to 20.43 lakh.
