Jeep Seven Crazy Concepts For 50th
Annual Easter Safari
Jeep just went berserk and revealed
not one but seven gorgeous concepts for the annual Easter Jeep Safari.
This year is somewhat more special as it
marks not only the 50th annual event but also Jeep’s 75th anniversary also.
Jeep Trailcat
If you wished for a Hellcat-powered
Wrangler then you will be happy to see your prayers answered. Using the
supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat engine, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission,
the Trailcat is a true satanic off-roader. Engineers had to add 12 inches to
the wheelbase of the Wrangler and chop two inches off the windshield in order
to create the Trailcat, and the result is as awesome as it sounds.
Jeep Crew Chief 715
Built as a salute to the military Jeeps
of the past and in particular the Kaiser M715, the Crew Chief 715 is based on
the Wrangler Unlimited-based concept. Steel front and rear bumpers, 20-inch
beadlock wheels and 40-inch NDT military tires pay homage to the original Jeep
military vehicles. Powered by the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and mated to a
five-speed automatic transmission, the Crew Chief 715 just screams ‘BUILD ME
ALREADY’.
Jeep Shortcut
Another Wrangler-based concept, the
Shortcut is a modern take on the beloved classic CJ-5. Featuring a shortened
body with a unique grille, hood, tailgate, front and rear wheel flares and
custom chrome front and rear bumpers. A modified exhaust, 17-inch red steel
wheels and 35-inch BF-Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires complete the look of
an icon.
Jeep Trailstorm
Representing the ultimate explorer, the
Trailstorm wears everal Jeep Performance Parts, including 17-inch concept
off-road wheels wrapped in 37-inch tires, a 2-inch lift kit with Jeep
Performance Parts/Fox shocks, a Jeep Performance Parts Rubicon winch, and Dana
44 front and rear axles.
Jeep FC150
The modern incarnation of the FC150 pays
tribute to a true American workhorse. Underneath its gorgeous skin there’s a
2005 Wrangler chassis modified to accept a Dana 44 front axle, Dana 60 rear
axle and 17-inch white steel wheels wrapped in 33-inch BF-Goodrich Mud-Terrain
T/A KM2 tires.
Jeep Comanche
The Comanche could be the ideal compact
pickup truck for many. Based on the Renegade, the Comanche uses a powered by a
2.0-liter diesel I-4 engine and mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with
Jeep Active Drive Lock, which includes low range and a locking rear
differential.
