Lifan X40 concept
Lifan showcased the concept of their
upcoming sub-compact SUV, called the X40, at Auto Shanghai 2015, held in April
2015. The vehicle will be positioned below the X50 in the company range.
The front end gets a hexagonal grille
with a chunky single slat in the middle. Headlights are projector units that
also get LED DRLs. The lower portion of the bumper incorporates fog lamps
having aluminum-finish bezels. The same coating is also carried on to the roof
rails while the B- and C-pillars have been blackened. Moving to the posterior,
there is a tailgate-mounted spoiler and edgy LED tail lights. The silver-finish
skid plates complete the outdoorsy look of the concept.
There is no word on the interior, but if
it matches the design of the exterior, it should be a good place to be in.
Under the hood, power is expected to be
supplied by a choice of 1.3-liter and 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engines
which will have outputs between 90 hp to 130 hp. The powerhouses are likely to
be matched with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT.
