SsangYong Diesel Model Range (UK)
SsangYong's Turismo MPV and Korando
& Rexton SUVs have all received a power boost for 2016, as well as improved
economy and reduced CO2 emissions, thanks to their new Euro 6 diesel power
unit.
The new e-XDi220 diesel engines now pack
178 PS and 400 Nm of torque, which is an increase of 19.4%
and 11% respectively compared to the older Euro 5 2.0-liter engine.
On the Korando, CO2 emissions have been
reduced to 139 g/km, down from 147 g/km, whereas fuel economy has gone up to 53.3
mpg UK (5.3 l/100 km) (mixed cycle) for the 2-wheel drive manual version, as
opposed to 47.1 mpg UK (6.0 l/100 km) on the previous version.
The 2016 Korando also comes with several
equipment enhancements such as clear glass director indicators, piano black
radiator grille and newly designed 16" and 17" alloys wheels, as well
as 18" diamond cut alloy wheels for the flagship model.
Inside, EX and ELX spec versions get a
7" high-res touchscreen with audio streaming from smart devices and a link
to the rear view camera - whereas the top of the range ELX also gets a TomTom
sat-nav system.
The entry level Korando SE starts from
£ 15,995 (2WD) or £ 17,495 (4WD) and features smart cloth trim, electric windows,
air conditioning, cruise control, 16" wheels, RDS/Bluetooth radio and six
airbags, to go with its roof rails, front fog lights and rear parcel shelf, all
standard.
The Rexton, SsangYong's flagship SUV has
also been enhanced for 2016 by the addition of the Euro 6 compliant power unit.
On top of that, Rexton buyers get a choice of either a 6-speed manual
transmission or a new Mercedes-Benz 7-speed automatic. Inside the ELX model
you'll find beige or grey leather, a new multi-function leather-covered
steering wheel, auto-dipping rear view mirror, heated rear seats and sat-nav.
As for the 2016 2.2-liter Turismo MPV,
it also gets the new 7-speed Mercedes-Benz gearbox, while the top of the range
ELX version comes with selectable 4x4 with low ratio as standard, to go with
its 2 tone towing capability.
