Tata Bolt Sports Limited Edition
Tata Motors showcased the
performance-based version of the Bolt hatchback at the Auto Expo 2016
after making global premiere at the Geneva Motor Show last year. The Tata Bolt
Sport announces the first hot hatch made by an Indian manufacturer and gets
propelled by the 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol motor found in the Zest
sedan and regular version of the Bolt hatchback.
It’s not just a conventional
engine as the ECU has been remapped and exhaust beefed up helping the
performance-tuned motor to make out a maximum power output of 120 bhp at 5,500
rpm and 170 Nm of peak torque between 2,000 rpm and 3,000 rpm. Power is
transferred to the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox and the
Bolt Sport sits on a newly designed 17-inch sporty alloy wheels with larger
disc brakes and has stiffer suspension setting.
The multiple driving modes available in
the Tata Bolt Sport are Eco, City and Sport just as in the standard model. But
the sportiness is a emphasised by the new bolder grille, smoked-out projector
head lights, brush metal strip on number plate, air dams, aggressive body kit
and side skirts, vented front fenders for brake cooling, rear roof spoiler, new
rear bumper and diffuser.
The changes to the cabin includes new black leather
upholstery with contrast red stitches and inserts, speed dependant volume
control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter, sunroof, Harman
touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition and SMS readout. On the
safety front, the Tata Bolt Sport features dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking
system) and Corner Stability Control among others.
