Suzuki Jimmy Adventure
The tiny hardcore off-roader soldiers on
with Suzuki UK creating a new limited Adventure version for its fans.
You either love or hate the Suzuki Jimny
which was first launched in 1998 and despite the much more advanced crossovers
taking over the market, is still on sale.
Powered by a 85 hp 1.3-litre petrol
engine and a 4WD with a selectable low-range, this Suzuki means business when
the asphalt stops. Think of it as a mini Defender or Wrangler and you get the
idea. Small, nimble and painfully slow on the tarmac, the Suzuki Jimny is an
absolute hoot to drive off-road.
The new Jimny Adventure is based on the
range-topping SZ4 specification that includes 15-inch alloys, synthetic leather
seats, air conditioning and rear privacy glass, and adds a navigation system
with Bluetooth connectivity, hard spare wheel cover and a two-tone metallic
White/Grey paint finish.
Priced at £ 14,949, the Adventure costs
just £ 1000 more than the SZ4 before the optional £ 430 metallic paint is added,
offering great value too. Just 200 units will be available solely in the UK
market.
The old-school proper 4x4 is a dying
breed and Suzuki itself has figured that out, too, as it's successor will enter
the 21st century.
