2016 Subaru XV (UK)
UK customers can now order Subaru’s
updated compact crossover which now offers a more refined cabin and a refreshed
exterior styling.
Subaru UK will
offer the updated XV crossover with the same prices as before, starting from
£ 21,995. The new model follows a series of upgrades made in 2015 which included
some modification in the suspension and a new, quicker and more direct steering
rack.
More specifically the cabin now is
finished in higher quality materials and features Subaru’s latest 7.0-inch
infotainment and navigation system which allows swipe and pinch control for map
displays and a standard rear-view camera. The adoption of a metallic and a
piano black trim as well as contrast stitching throughout the cabin bring a
higher-quality, more modern feel to the cabin, also helped by the driver’s new
TFT LCD screen in the instrument binnacle.
Certain functions of the car like
changing the navigation settings and adjusting the power of temperature of the
climate control can now be controlled by voice. The new voice control function
also allows iPhone users to activate the Siri Eyes-Free function. An extra USB
port in front of the cabin is also present to reflect “the evolving needs” of
customers today.
The powertrain range continues to
include two four-cylinder boxer engines -one petrol and one diesel- which now
offer improved fuel economy and two gearbox options: a six-speed manual and a
CVT automatic with six predefined ratios.
The 147 PS 2.0-litre diesel model with
the manual transmission now offers a 4 per cent better fuel efficiency, thanks
to a series of updates and longer gear ratios, achieving a 52.3 mpg UK combined
while CO2 emissions drop from 146 to 141 g/km. Despite the longer ratios, Subaru
says that the new XV diesel is still able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in
9.3 seconds.
The company also claims to have applied
a series of updates to the 150 PS 2.0-litre petrol engine, which now offers a
two per cent improvement in fuel efficiency when equipped with the CVT
automatic gearbox, returning a 43.5 mpg UK and 151 g/km of CO2 emissions. Petrol
models fitted with the manual gearbox are now more fuel efficient at motorway
speeds thanks to the longer gear ratios.
