Honda BR-V Diesel
A few months after hitting
Thailand, Honda’s new affordable crossover has been launched in yet another
Asian market.
In contrast to the Thai
version, which comes solely with a 119 PS 1.5-liter petrol four and a CVT
transmission, the BR-V will be sold in India with a 100 PS 1.5-liter diesel as
well. Moreover, both engines that belong in the “Earth Dreams Technology” family
are now available with a new six-speed manual gearbox.
Pricing for the Brio-based
subcompact SUV, which can be ordered in five- or seven-seat configuration,
begins at 8.75 lakh and tops out at 12.90 lakh.
There are five trim levels
for the petrol and four for the diesel-powered BR-V. Standard equipment
included dual front airbags and projector headlights. Diesels get ABS with EBD,
which on the petrol engine is offered for the S version upwards.
The BR-V measures 4,455 mm
in length, 1,735 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height and will compete with the
likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Maruti S-Cross in the local
market.
