MINI Clubman ALL4 and JCW Convertible
MINI's debuts for this year's edition of
the event in the Big Apple will include the Clubman ALL4 and the John Cooper
Works Convertible.
The Clubman ALL4 promises to combine the advantages of the
all-wheel drive system with the "go-kart handling", shifting power
from the front to the rear axle in a quarter of a second.
In the US market, it will be offered
with a choice of two gasoline engines, a 1.5-liter turbo 3-pot, with 134 HP, on
the Cooper, and a 189 HP 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, on the Cooper S. In
Europe, MINI will offer the latter in the same configuration, but the former
will be replaced by the Cooper SD diesel, with a 2.0-liter turbo delivering 187
HP.
The open-top MINI Convertible, in its
range-topping version, gets the John Cooper Works accessories that include the
aggressive body kit, re-tuned suspension, 17- or 18-inch rims and red brake
calipers. Featuring the most powerful engine in the British brand's portfolio,
the drop-top enjoys 228 HP, 20 HP more than its predecessor, from a 2.0-liter
turbo.
When it will arrive in dealerships
across the States, this April, the MINI Convertible JCW will start from US$ 35,600, plus destination and handling, while for the Clubman ALL4, prospective
buyers will have to pay at least US$ 26,750 and additional US$ 3,550 for the Cooper S
Clubman ALL4.
