Rolls Royce Dawn (India)

Based on the Wraith coupe, Dawn is the most silent convertible in the world, claims Rolls Royce. Priced at a staggering INR 6.25 crore, thanks to the heavy import duties on imported cars, Dawn is the most expensive Rolls Royce car on offer in India today.

Making global debut last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Dawn is a two door, 4 seater luxury coupe from the British marquee.

Powering the RR Dawn is a 6.0 liter V12 twin turbo-ed engine which delivers 564 hp and an earth shattering 780 Nm of torque. The beauty being, all this torque is delivered at almost no sound at all. Weighing over 2.5 tonnes, it can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds, and does a top speed of 250 kmph.

Power and torque transmission is taken care by a newly developed 8 speed automatic gearbox. In addition to this, it also gets a dynamic acceleration pedal, which results in a better throttle response, by up to 30%. Fuel efficiency claimed is 7 km/l.

Though based on the Wraith, Rolls Royce made it very clear that the Dawn has 80% new components and features. New features on offer include satellite-aided navigation system, BMW iDrive system, 16 speaker music system, new suspension system with new air springs and revised anti-roll bars.

The fabric roof can be lowered in just 22 seconds. The same can also be done when the car is in motion, at speeds of upto 48 km/h.
