2016 Yamaha Ego Avantiz

The 2016 Yamaha Ego Avantiz scooter was launched in Malaysia today at a price of RM 5,700, pending government approval. Held in conjunction with Yamaha’s “Automatic World Motorshow” in Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur, the 2016 Yamaha Ego Avantiz is designed to provide “an exciting and fun ride” for the rider.

Powered by a 125 cc SOHC air-cooled engine, the Avantiz scooter provides a claimed 9.3 hp at 8,000 rpm and 9.6 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Power gets to the rear wheel via a wet multi-plate clutch and automatic gearbox driving a V-belt.

Weighing in at 96 kg, the Ego Avantiz stands 773 mm tall at the seat, ideal for any rider, and suitable for daily commuting and urban transport duties. The fuel tank holds 4.2-litres of fuel, and the underseat storage volume is 14-litres, enough to hold an open-face helmet. A new parking lock system is also incorporated into the hand brake.

A single hydraulic disc-brake handles stopping duties up front, while a drum brake brings up the rear. Suspension is with a telescopic fork and a monoshock single absorber at the back, and the Avantiz rolls on 14-inch wheels. Main competitor to the Yamaha Ego Avantiz is the Suzuki Address 115 at RM 5,200.

The 2016 Yamaha Ego Avantiz comes in three colours – red, blue and black, with LED lighting in front. Priced at RM 5,700, including GST, but excluding road tax, insurance and number plates, the Ego Avantiz is expected to hit Yamaha dealer showrooms by August, 2016.
