MINI JCW by AC Schnitzer
Last time we’ve seen this color combo on
an AC Schnitzer product it had a modified version of the M3 and M4’s S55 421 PS 3.0L turbo six producing 570 PS dumped under its bonnet.
The German tuner’s brand new offering
for the Mini isn’t so radical, but the variant for the JCW does pack a punch
with its 34 PS power gain from 231 PS to 265 PS. The
top-of-the line sporty John Cooper Works doesn't get all the attention, as AC
Schnitzer’s engineers boosted the regular Cooper’s power from 136 PS to
170 PS and the S’ from 192 PS to 235 PS.
A new suspension makes sure the car can
hold its own through the corners and comes with a set of AC1 BiColor or
Anthracite 19-inch alloys, fitted with 215/35 or 225/35 tires. The
modifications are available for the Hatch, Clubman and Cabriolet.
The uprated MINIs come with a new
exhaust system, available with a "Track Mode" valve control with
remote control for sound optimization to really let the engine rip. Like all
exhaust systems for the MINI, the origins of the striking sound are revealed
with the AC Schnitzer "Sport" or "Sport Black" tailpipe
designs.
The Mini’s exterior styling wasn’t left
to chance either, with the Aachen-based company providing a more individual
look. According to AC Schnitzer, the aerodynamically efficient front splitter
doesn't even need painting and is easy to install thanks to its surface
structure which precisely matches the standard wing recesses. The styling
package is completed by the décor set, rear "Technology & Design"
sticker, rear skirt film, and of course the red and green color scheme.
